Hiding apps
Hiding apps post-provision
System apps are those that come shipped with the device’s firmware. They cannot be uninstalled. Some are undesirable because they rely on Internet services or were included for promotional reasons only. TDM supports hiding (and re-showing) almost any application, including system apps.
To hide an app, go to Hide applications
, find and toggle the hide application entry to ON
.
TDM will not allow you to hide applications considered essential for the device to operate. This includes the Launcher, apps providing soft input methods (keyboards) and Settings.
Disable system apps at provision time
Android NFC and QR provisioning supports the parameter android.app.extra.PROVISIONING_LEAVE_ALL_SYSTEM_APPS_ENABLED
.
If set to false
, apps marked by the device’s vendor as non-essential will not be enabled or
visible from the Android Launcher at the end of the setup wizard. The default configuration on
the TDM SmartLicence smartcard is to set PROVISIONING_LEAVE_ALL_SYSTEM_APPS_ENABLED
to false.
